Governance/Proprietors Support
Governors play a vital and pivotal role in school improvement by providing a sense of direction for the work of the school and offering the school both support and challenge. Fig Tree International Ltd offers support with the development of the role of governors, including self evaluation, roles and responsibilities and implementing a Code of Conduct. Some governors may have specific duties which require them to have more detailed knowledge about an aspect of the school's work. Additionally, governors usually have performance management responsibilities relating to the Head/Principal. External advisory support is always helpful in these circumstances. In a supportive capacity, we can provide independent support by investigating grievances raise by members of the senior leadership team.

Support and/or challenge for senior leadership teams
We offer l eadership and management development for senior and middle leaders. Based on extensive research around leadership styles and teams, we can explore these with individuals and teams in order to develop leadership skills, improve knowledge and build capacity. Whether it is looking at roles and responsibilities, change management or analysing school culture, our training packages are interesting and engaging. We lead discussions on the barriers to effective leadership. Unlike some of our other packages, our training for senior teams is available throughout the week and on a Saturday. It is anticipated that there would be a review/follow-up of this training, focusing on how it has impacted on the organisation. If coaching and mentoring support is required for individual staff or teams, please view our coaching and mentoring packages.
Setting of Vision
Vision is where you want to be in the future, what your school will look like, how it will feel to be there, what aspirations it will have and by which values it will operate'. Brent Davies 2006.
Does your School Vision offer clarity for the work of the school/organisation? Writing and implementing a robust Vision can be complex. Fig Tree International Ltd can support you with this area of work. Do your values align with your Vision and are stakeholders aware of what your organisation stands for? Setting and reviewing strategy
With professional knowledge that we have, Fig Tree International Ltd can assist you with developing the strategy for your organisation and ensure that these are outlined clearly in your school improvement plan. We can assess whether the overall strategy is correct and is focusing on the right key areas for improvement. We can assist with your team's exploration of school improvement projects. Working with governors, leaders, teachers and parents, we work alongside you to ensure that stakeholders are clear about the school's priorities. Support with Performance Management
We are able to support with training those who are new to performance management or those more experienced colleagues who wish to further develop their skills in relation to this. Drawing on the school's information and good practice models, we can advise and offer external advice around performance management. We can implement training in relation to managing under performance, managing difficult people or conflict management.
Support with appointment of senior posts
Fig Tree International Ltd can support with a variety of Human Resource (HR) issues in addition to those mentioned above. Our consultants can actively engage with the appointment of senior posts, whether this be a one off appointment or more regularly on senior appointment panels, we are here for you. The appoint of the Head/Principal is particularly key and our short training package can take you through the process and show you possible recruitment strategies you may not have considered. This package is bespoke and personalised according to your needs.
Our Leadership Support packages are 2 - 5 days, plus any required report-writing, with longer term packages available, as requested.
